Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse

Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse

Mount Rushmore

Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse are within 30 minutes of each other and can both be done easily in a few hours. We did Mount Rushmore first and honestly we spent 30 minutes here tops. It really is just a giant rock with heads carved into it. Personally I found it a little underwhelming and smaller than I had anticipated. There is a trail around it, however when we visited, it was closed for construction. There are also museums and films explaining the process, but we chose to skip these as we already knew the history behind it. If you do not know a lot about Mount Rushmore than I suggest checking them out. While we did find this a little disappointing I do still think it is worth seeing! It is an important part of American History and worth a quick stop! There were definitely more exciting things we saw on our trip, so overall we give this just 2 out of 5 stars.

Crazy Horse

Crazy Horse was a huge let down and not worth the $30 it costs to get in. For starters it is not even finished and doesn't seem to have any timeline or hopes of ever being completed. You also cannot get any closer to the Crazy Horse Memorial, as it is an ongoing construction sight. So the only view you get is basically the same view you get from the road. While the museum and history presentation is interesting, it is not worth the money. You could look it up on the internet and get the same information. I would not suggest going to this. It is neat to see from the road and might be worth a quick drive by, but it is definitely not worth $30. We would give this 1 out of 5 stars.
